Learn about 和 practice the craft of travel writing while exploring 和学习 about the rich history 和 culture of Republic of 爱尔兰!
什么是旅游写作? 游记, 通过定义, is writing that describes places an author has 访问ed 和 the experiences they had while travelling. The travel writing in this course will most often take the forms of personal essays 和 blog posts. Most of it falls into the general category called “creative nonfiction.”

- Students will strengthen their skills of cross-cultural observation 和 critical inquiry through note-taking 和 writing daily journal entries recording their experiences, 观察, 问题, 和学习.
- Students will read about the craft 和 sub-genres of travel writing, with daily reading assignments. Readings will also include essays 和 selections on Irish history, literature, 和 culture.
- Students will be encouraged to develop their own lines of inquiry 和 specific interests about 爱尔兰 和 Irish culture 和 seek out activities, 位置, 或者要体验的话题, 访问, 和研究.

Students will live on the campuses of large public universities in both Dublin 和 Galway. Housing is in individual bedrooms, organized into suites with shared kitchen/living space.
都柏林是爱尔兰的首都，是一座繁忙的现代化城市. Housing is south of the city, 和 a 20-minute public bus ride from the City Centre. Galway is a smaller, university town, rich in culture 和 with a lively arts 和 music scene. Our university housing there is a 20-minute walk (or a 5-minute shuttle bus ride) to the city center.
Daily travel may include walking, trains, public or coach buses, ferry, or taxis.

This program will have a group flight from Logan airport in Boston to Dublin airport, 和 return with a flight from either Dublin or Shannon (on the west coast of 爱尔兰) to Boston.
- At least one program leader will accompany the group on each flight.

- Students may opt out of the group flight; in this case they would be credited the amount of the flight 和 would make their own round-trip travel booking.
