COM2051: Intercultural Communication in Putney, VT 和 魁北克 City, 加拿大

项目概述

This course focuses on the relationship between communication 和 culture. Students explore the ways in which cultural values, attitudes 和 assumptions are reflected in the communication process.

Students in this program will spend the two weeks of the course on L和mark College's Putney, VT campus 和 will travel to Quebec City, 参加为期一周的课程.

The semester begins with a self-analysis of the students’ own cultural identities 和 communication styles. Students then examine verbal 和 nonverbal communication patterns from a cross-cultural perspective. The students work toward refining their oral communication skills by preparing oral presentations 和 leading group discussions.

  • 特殊注意事项: Is this program the right fit for you?

    Students in this program will spend two weeks at our Putney, VT校园，在qu忧郁呆一周, 加拿大. Transportation to 魁北克 will be by bus or train.

    空闲时间/独立:变量. 在校园里, free time will be similar to any other campus course - this program takes place during the second 夏天 session on campus. 而在quacimbec, the group will have many structured activities but most days will include some free time.

    李·克罗克 is an Associate Professor of Communication at L和mark College. Lee earned her Master's in Special Education 和 Reading from Sage Graduate School, Bachelor's of Psychology from the University of 佛蒙特州, 和C.A.G., Autism Spectrum Disorders from Antioch University New Engl和.

    Lee's academic interests include animals 和 human communication 和 relationships, 自闭症谱系障碍, 以及社会语用学.
